A Closer look at the Beginnings of Gaming

Video games have become a vast and popular part of today's culture, but not many people know much about how they made their first debut. Here is a short overview of how video games made their mark. It all began back in the 1970's with the company named Atari, and a man by the name of Nolan Bushnell. Similar to many of the successfull men of today's time, he started as an average man with an extraordinary idea. Starting with the game of Pong, Bushnell made his big break in the video game industry. As history looks back at this first step towards gaming's big impact, Nolan Bushnell was, and still is characterized as the Father of video games.

As the 1970's began to come to a close, and newer games began to become popular, Atari decided to meet the competition by creating newer games of their own. This led to games such as Centipede, Asteroids, Pac Man, and several other popular games as well. Eventually though, Nolan ended up selling Atari over to a company that presented him an offere he felt he couldnt refuse. From then on though, Video games continued to grow and expand in variety through newer and newer ideas. Although this mayonly be a fraction of the full beginnings of the video game world, but to go into all the info would take a bit too long for one blog alone. For now though, I will leave gaming history there, but feel free to look into the topic if you are interested to learn more, or feel free to ask any questoins you may have. Here is a video as well that may answer any present questions some of you may have.

I really felt this would be a good way to start things off, so as to give you guys a bit of an inside look at how video games got their start. For my next post, I will probly be going into some new and upcoming releases, and possibly some reviews on older games. If anyone has any ideas on any games they would like to know more about as well, I am up for any suggestions.

Hello all my fellow gamers out there! This is the Gamer's Evolution, the place to be for all your gaming interests. Gaming has been a hobby of mine for about 10 years now and with this blog, I plan to show you guys what the wonderful world of gaming has to offer. I plan to discuss news on up and coming names of popular games, give reviews of classic and older games, and much more along the way. My focus is to immerse you guys in the gaming world one step at a time, and Im sure many will find this blog to be interesting among other things, if not insightful to a point. Of course, with the gaming world being as vast and enormous as it is today, and a short amount of time in the semester, I wont be able to cover every aspect of gaming, but I will do the best I can to enlighten you on how fun gaming really is. I look forward to those of you who plan to keep your eyes peeled at what I have in store, as well as what thoughts you guys have.
